This is a universal heavy-duty plug and aesthetic trim designed specifically for the hollow legs of the IKEA Lack furniture series (coffee tables, TV stands, side tables). When hacking an IKEA Lack table to customise their height, you have to cut the legs. Since Lack legs are mostly hollow inside (except for the very ends), cutting them leaves an open gap that compromises stability and looks unfinished.
